Russian space systems (RSS) have introduced the novelty at the ‘Archimedes-2016’ Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies.
According to inventors, the robot can survey and repair equipment in hard-to-access areas of the space vehicles or orbital station.
The new device can move at operator’s commands and carry payload. In addition, this equipment can work in rough conditions of the outer space. Move frequency of the limbs is up to 10 Hz, the robot’s speed is almost 1mm/sec.
Developers suggest that the walking robot can provide service to modern space vehicles and might be on hand during space missions of the future.
