May 9 Parade rehearsals have been on for a week now in Alabino near Moscow. Our correspondents have visited one and found out if there would be anything new for guests and TV viewers on Victory Day 2016.
Rehearsals are held at the so-called ‘Red Square mockup’ ground. Its size and marking are the same as those of the country’s main square, where our military and combat equipment will march in parade formations.

Oleg Salyukov, commander in chief of the Ground Forces, will command the parade this year (for the third time in a row).

Rehearsals are held thrice a week.

Cadets of the Moscow Military Musical School traditionally start the parades.

Mixed formation of female military from Volsk Academy of Logistics and Military University will participate in the parade for the first time.

According to the Defense Ministry, over 10 thousand people take part in the parade.
