The S-400 “Triumf” air-defense systems will enter service in the nearest future in Primorye.

The personnel of the Vladivostok air-defense guard regiment has started mastering the system at the Ashuluk training ground near Astrakhan. They will perform firing exercises using various types of targets. The Pacific fleet press-service said that after acceptance procedures were over they would deliver equipment to Primorye to put it to combat service.

Placing the S-400 near Vladivostok will provide sky coverage over the main PF base.

They also reported that 2 sets of “Triumfs” entered service with Western military district in Leningrad Oblast.

One AD regiment earlier entered service in Kamchatka.

The S-400 “Triumf” system is designed to protect political, administrative, economic and military objects from aviation, cruise missiles, tactical and operative-tactical ballistic missiles strikes as well as from mid-range ballistic missiles. The AD system can track up to 300 targets and fire at 36 out of them simultaneously aiming 2 missiles at each target.
