“Raptor” motor boat to join the Black Sea fleet

Press-service of the “Pella” shipbuilding plant reports that patrol motor-boat of the project 03160 has successfully undergone the tests.

“Raptor” will be delivered to the ship base and will soon enter service with the Black Sea fleet.  

The military will get 8 new generation speedboats in total.

“Raptors” might be used for patrolling sea coastlands as well as river straits and entries, for intercepting and apprehending small-sized targets along with participating in rescue operations. The interior structure of the motor boat makes it possible to transport up to 20 persons by sea. Depending on the task it can be either infantry or paratroopers or rescuers.    

The length of the motorboat is 17 meters; the width is 4 meters. The 2000 horsepower power plant allows “Raptor” to make 50 knots, which is over 90 kmh.

The vessel is equipped with remotely controlled hydrostabillized electrooptic module (HEM) of the following characteristics: caliber -  14,5 mm, detection range – 3000 meters, rifle range – 2000 meters, 2 x 6P41 Pecheneg 7,62 mm pivot mounted machine guns.
