A registration request for the new “Assad tour” brand has been sent by a Russian tour operator to Rospatent, Moskva information agency reports citing the request copy.

According to Anatoly Aronov, the president of the First Patent Company, which advises on brands registration and receiving patents, this trade mark is being registered under international Class 39 “Services for the transport of people, animals or goods from one place to another”.

“The applicant considers launching tours from Moscow to Syria next year, making it possible to visit the frontline. They are going to be individual, 4 to 5 day-long tours for groups of 3 to 5 persons” – he said.

Letters of information were said to have been sent to the Syrian embassy and specialized governmental bodies.

According to Aronov, despite the crisis in tour business, there are people who want to see natural disasters or to visit places which are close to combat areas”.

Armed conflict has been on in Syria for a few years, approximately since 2011. We remind that Russia has been conducting aerial operation in Syria since September 30. Syrian president Bashar Assad had asked Russia for help to fight terrorists, including those of ISIS and Jabhat an Nusra.
