The S-400 system-equipped air defense regiment has gone on combat duty in Kamchatka. It will provide for leak-proof defense of the Russian East.

Interfax – MNA reported it citing the Russian Federation Pacific Fleet press service.

New systems are capable of detecting air targets at a distance of over 600 kilometers. They are to substitute the S-300 air defense systems, which have been defending Russia’s borders for over 25 years.

The Kamchatka-based S-400s will ensure reliable protection of the nuclear submarine base and other strategic sites.

Mention that the S-400 “Triumph” is designed to kill reconnaissance and “stealth” aircraft, strategic bombers, cruise and ballistic missiles as well as UFVs and hypersonic targets. Within the 400 kilometers’ range, each system fires up to 36 targets at a time with 72 missiles. The “Triumphs” are manufactured by Concern PVO “Almaz Antey”.
