A revised version of the Russian strategy of national security is being prepared and is going to be presented to the Russian president before 2015.

The updated document was brought before the Security Council Interagency commission on strategic planning, Interfax-MNA quotes the press-service of the Russian Federation Security Council.

As noted, “the strategy is aimed at consolidating the effort of governmental bodies and civil society institutes to provide favorable interior and exterior conditions for promotion of national priorities as well as to counter new threats to national interests”.

«While discussing the strategy draft, members of the Interagency commission stressed the importance of drawing the Russia’s internal reserve at most (i.e. economic, political, human, cultural and spiritual potential)” – Security Council press-service said.

“Meeting participants excluded international closedness of the country, noting that active foreign policy, cooperation development, foreign capital raising and acquiring of technologies must be completed with own effort of economy modernization and strengthening of national security” – the SC noted.

In late September, Nikolai Patrushev said that Russia would update its strategy of national security. However, it has nothing to do with the new doctrine of Ukraine’s national security, which for the first time called Russia an aggressor.

We remind that the acting strategy of national security was approved on 12 May 2009.
