“Uralvagonzavod” will display the new wheeled IFV of the “Atom” project. Its premier will be in September 2015 at the Russian Arms Expo exhibition.

The vehicle was debugged after French partners had left the project – Alexei Jarich, deputy chief of the enterprise told TASS.

The now-designed “Atom” wheeled fighting vehicle was shown for the first time at the last RAE 2013 exhibition in Nijni Tagil. “Uralvagonzavod” and the “Renault Defense Trucks” French company used to work on the project.

However, in April 2014, due to deterioration in relations between Russia and the West, foreign partners quitted the project. Earlier this year Oleg Sienko, head of “UVZ” said that the corporation would keep on developing the IFV in cooperation with another partner, most evidently with the United Arab Emirates.

According to the “Lenta.ru”, the “Atom’s” combat weight will make up 32 tons. The vehicle is supposed to be equipped with the 57 mm automatic gun and a combat stock of 200 rounds. The armored vehicle will be able to drive at a speed of up to 100 km/h.

We remind that international exhibition of arms, military equipment and ammunition Russian Arms Expo 2015 will be held this year in Nijni Tagil on 9-12 September. It is expected to host the farthest number of presentations possible both of the Russian and of the foreign military industry developments.
