The ship earlier passed factory tests in the Baltic Sea.

Press service of “Yantar” Baltic shipbuilding plant reports that "Admiral Grigorovitch" head escort ship of the Project 11356 is being prepared for the fleet-to-fleet transferring to the North.

Russian Defense ministry intends to test fire the “Kalibr-NK” missile system from the ship. According to the ministry, the Baltic Sea area is not suitable to test all types of ship’s armament, therefore next stage of tests will be carried out in the Northern fleet where the ship will move to in mid-December 2015.

When state tests are over, "Admiral Grigorovitch" frigate will return to the “Yantar” Baltic shipbuilding plant to get prepared for transferring to the Russian Navy.

"Admiral Grigorovitch" is the head ship of the Project 11356. Frigates of this type are designed to combat surface and underwater ships in sea and ocean areas as well as to repel air attacks. It is equipped with the “Kalibr-NK” ship missile system firing 3M-54TE high accuracy missiles as well as with “Shtil-1” multi-channel air-defense system and “Palash” air-defense artillery system.
