The “R-32” missile boat of the 12421 “Molniya” (Eng. lightning) project was transferred to the Egyptian Navy in the Port of Alexandria.

The information was published in balabin-1712 blog. The craft used to be in service with the Russian Navy before. Egyptians took interest in the boat as far back as 2014 but delivery contract was signed as late as 2015.

Since 2010 till 2013 the ship was in the Caspian Flotilla. In November 2013 it was moved through inland waters to the Baltic sea. It had been in service there for less than two years.

In the first half of July the “P-32” quit Baltiysk and set off to the Mediterranean. In the end of the month, the boat arrived in Alexandria.

The missile boat was produced at the “Vympel” Rybinsk shipyard in 2000. As of today, the craft is the only operational project 12421 boat because the other two have never been accomplished. The craft is equipped with the “Moskit” anti-ship missile complex.
