Heavy infantry unit of the CMD, located in Orenburg region, has received a brand-new combat garment.
The news has been brought by press-service of the Central military district. Over 200 “Ratnik” combat gear kits are said to have been supplied within State Defense Procurement programme.
They started to develop new generation “Ratnik” gear in Russia in 2000s and completed it in early 2015. It is described as a “soldier of future” gear. First samples were displayed at MAKS-2011 airshow.
“Ratnik” consists of a thermal imager, modern small arms, enhanced protection armored jackets, communication and intelligence tools, special-purpose headphones and other devices that might be useful for soldiers. About 10 various subsystems in total. What’s more, one can adapt the gear to needed purposes by choosing one element or another.
Orphus system
