The BS-64 “Podmoskovie” nuclear submarine has been triumphantly moved out of the covered way at the “Zvezdochka” shipyard.

The submarine is to be launched any time soon. After that the ship must pass through docking trial, then seagoing company test, the shipyard press-service says.

At the “Zvezdochka” the submarine has been long reequipped into nuclear deepwater stations carrier (NDS).

During seagoing and official tests, the sub is supposed to cooperate with NDCs of the “Kashalot”, “Paltus” and “Losharik” projects. Besides carried NDCs the sub will be equipped with the “Klavesin-1R” unmanned underwater vehicle

The “Podmoskovie” submarine was initially constructed upon the 667BDRM project and got the K-64 name. They started sub production in 1982 at the “Sevmash”; in March 1984 they launched it and two years later it entered service with the Navy.

In 1999 the sub moved to the “Zvezdochka” to get reequipped for carrying NDCs. Missile rooms were cut out of the ship. Instead of them, they installed research rooms and NDCs docking units. Due to this, the sub has increased in size.
