“Alexander Nevski” nuclear submarine arrives to Kamchatka

State of the art missile carrying Project 955 “Alexander Nevski” nuclear submarine has joined the Pacific Fleet.

Press-service of the Pacific Fleet reports that the brand new nuclear missile-carrier arrived to the permanent base in Vilyuchinsk having accomplished the fleet-to-fleet passage from the Northern to the Pacific Fleet.

The sub put on the dock of the modern deployment support structure, built on Kamchatka for nuclear submarines of new generations.

Victor Chirkov, Commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy was there to meet the submarine. The admiral congratulated the submariners on arriving and fulfilling the task of 4.5 thous. miles-long seagoing in north altitude.

“The Main Command of the Russian Navy focuses on combat training and technical readiness of the strategic nuclear submarines of the Pacific Fleet” – Chirkov said. He added that the development of new basing systems designed for new generation nuclear submarines was concerned.
